Katie Rhys Jones is an artist based in Oxfordshire and Bath.

'I have been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember. When I was 15 my art teacher at school encouraged me to try oil painting and it quickly became my favoured media. What interests me most is colour and design.  

I draw inspiration from the things I see around me, hence a series of flower paintings, based upon the flowers we've put into our garden over the last few years. Then an array of  seaside pictures stemming from holidays spent in Suffolk and by the South coast. Most recently, spending some time in Bath, I have painted views of the city from the windows of my flat.

I went on a great mosaic course last year and have been making mosaics ever since. I have also started making my own jewellery using beads and silver.'
